Z's 4th Birthday

Posted by Laureen at Saturday, October 24, 2009 5 comments

Z's 4th birthday was a joint celebration with my sister's son, Lyle's 1st birthday but this time it was celebrated here in the Philippines. My sister's family was here in the Philippines that time. Remember Z's birthday in Thailand, that was a joint celebration with Lyle's dedication.

Z's 4th birthday a simple celebration which we had for our less fortunate neighbors' children.

It was a "Soldiers" themed party. Why we thought of having a soldier themed party?? Here's the story.

There was one time that I asked my son on his ambition. I asked him, " What do you want to be when you grow up , Z?" And I was so surprised with his answer, " I want to become a security guard, Mom May!". LOL!

And since I'm not so keen of my son to become a security guard, I convinced him to change his ambition a bit and be a soldier rather than a security guard. lol! When he was finally accepted my proposal, he asked me that when he wants to have a soldier theme for his birthday party.

So, that's the story. Every one really had fun on that birthday of his. Now, I'm so excited and busy preparing for his 5th birthday party. We love our son so much that we really wanted to make him special on the day of his birth.

I am also thankful to God that He never fails to provide everything and meet the desires of our hearts.

On De-stressing and On Demand

Posted by Laureen at Saturday, October 24, 2009 0 comments
My Hubby and I loves to watch movies, it is actually our way of de stressing. By the time we get back home and put our kids to sleep, our favorite TV shows are already over. So, from time to time my Hubby would buy some DVDs for us to watch. Buying DVDs can be a bit expensive. But to those who have Charter Digital, I've heard that they can have free access to On Demand which has over 2,000 movies and shows. The best thing about Charter's On Demand is that you can watch your favorite movies or show anytime you want. So, you don't have to wait for the show to be on but the show or movie can 'wait' for you.

If only we have Charter Digital, then my Hubby won't have to buy all those DVDs and we won't be able to miss our favorite shows in TV. So, I guess those with Charter Digital must be so privileged to get all these new feature without any cost. If only there's Charter Digital available here in the Philippines. Anyways you can learn more at charter.net/ondemand . You can also get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page. So, if you're a Charter Digital subscriber you better check out their site now to see what you've missed!

Z's 3rd Birthday

Posted by Laureen at Wednesday, October 21, 2009 1 comments

Z boy's 3rd birthday was indeed a unique celebration since he celebrated it in Thailand and it was his first time to wear a superman costume. Superman was his favorite hero at that time.

For his birthday, we brought all the decorations, loot bags, invitations, banners and other toys all the way from the Philippines. Since most of these are difficult to find in there and if we do find these things, they'll be expensive. I was the one who baked my son's birthday cake.

Z boy really loved his birthday in Thailand. He joined all the games and enjoyed the party even though it was his first time to meet the Thai kids who were my sister's neighbors. He played with them and befriend them even though he can not understand what their language.

During the rest of the days of our stay there, the Thai children would call him in unison, " Z Boy!" whenever they see him. Yes, became quite popular after his birthday party and he definitely gained a lot of friends in Thailand. :)

2nd Birthday

Posted by Laureen at Tuesday, October 20, 2009 2 comments
My son, Z's birthday is on Oct. 25. Since it is already fast approaching I just thought of sharing his photos on his previous birthday celebrations.

I am going to start on his 2nd birthday since I can not locate his 1st birthday photos anymore. lol!

Well, we celebrated his 2nd birthday at De Luxe Hotel with family, friends, relatives and some of the kids in school where I am working part time.

His birthday theme was Barney and I personally made the Barney figurines as give aways. They were made out of plaster of paris. The molder was given to me by my sister Love from Thailand and thanks also for Bogie who painted the figurine and made it so perfect.

Z boy at 2 years old enjoyed the party and was so delighted of his special guest Barney the mascot. lol!

These doughnuts were my husband's "pasalubong" for us when he came back from Manila. I'm not really so fond of doughnuts but this one tastes good. I like it because it is not so sweet. My son, Z also likes these doughnuts so much.

FPF #6 - Why are you so sad?

Posted by Laureen at Thursday, October 15, 2009 5 comments

Yes!I'm the one who is frowning in that picture. Why?It's because I'm sad because my baby sister took my candy and flower. At first I was holding the candy and then my baby sis got it from me and when I held the flower, she took it away from me again. Lol!
That's Love, my younger sister from the left with my flower, the Princess is my older sister, Bem then on the right is my older brother Jinggoy.

Battery powered toy car

Posted by Laureen at Monday, October 12, 2009 4 comments
When my son, Z boy was only 3 years old he was able to ride a battery powered toy car for the first time in Tesco, Thailand. He enjoyed that ride so much that when we came back to the Philippines, he would keep on begging us to buy one for him every time we passed by Toy kingdom. He would say, "Just like in Thailand ,Daddy!". Oh my! we just cannot afford to buy such an expensive toy!
But now, I'm so glad that a company has come up with a business where they would have these battery powered cars for rent inside the mall. So, from time to time Z boy gets a chance to enjoy riding these cars. Whew! So, his begging has stopped and there's no need for us to buy for him that toy car. :)

YS # 8 -Adobong Kangkong

Posted by Laureen at Saturday, October 10, 2009 6 comments

The food in the photo is called Adobong Kangkong. This was the first time we ordered this item when we celebrated my Mom's birthday in Dear Manok. yes, that's the name of the restaurant which literally means, " Dear Chicken". LOL! I could remember the time when this restaurant was newly opened. We would laugh because of its name because we found it weird but then it also made us intrigued and made us try to try out the restaurant. We were satisfied with their chicken barbeque as well as the other items in their menu. So, this Adobong Kangkong is our most recent find and I can recommend it because its really very delicious,..as in.. Yummy!!

The Search Is On

Posted by Laureen at Monday, October 05, 2009 3 comments
Have you heard about MyLife ? It's a people search engine where you can find everyone all in one place. There is no need for you to register to different social networking sites to see if your long lost friends are there, but you can find them all here in this site.

I just got to find out about this site and I tried to search my old friends and classmates. I did find some of them but I didn't find the others. I'm guessing that maybe my other friends that I didn't find have already gotten married and changed their surnames. Or maybe they just can not be found online.

I would love to know what my old classmates are up to now, whether they are already married or single, whether they already have kids or not. But I guess I have to upgrade my account first to view their complete profile and communicate with them. The upgrade price is not really much, what is 3$ compared to connecting with old friends and reliving precious memories.

What about you? You might want to reconnect with old friends or lost loves perhaps? Then, why don't you try to search them from My Life.

Z's Date with Thea

Posted by Laureen at Sunday, October 04, 2009 1 comments
Before Z's cousin, Thea went back to Vietnam, they had a date together. They first went to the shop where Z bought Thea a little souvenir for her to remember him while she is away. Then they went to the favorite fastfood chain, Jollibee for snacks.

Z ordered burger and fries while Thea ordered hotdog and fries. I thought that they will not be able to consume their food but to my amazement they finished their food in no time. They even asked me to buy ice cream for them. So, I just ordered one for them( for them to share) thinking that they're already full but then they were still not satisfied and asked for more.

So,I just promised that I will buy for each one of them after they play at Planet Kids. So, off they went to Planet Kids and they stayed their for I think 1 and a half hours.

And after they played, of course, they didn't forget the ice cream I promised after the ice cream they ate popcorn and brought some for their other cousins who were still at school at that time.
Z couldn't forget this date with Thea for he truly had a great time. And now, he is looking forward for their next visit this January.
